Kabul: Bulldozers dug pits in a large cemetery in Kabul, where preparations were made for a mass funeral for those killed in the airstrike. Ambulances continuously arrived with bodies, and preparations were made for burying many people at once. Amid light rain, the atmosphere was extremely emotional and painful, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Death toll and controversy

According to Afghan officials, more than 400 people were killed and hundreds injured in the attack. Although this figure could not be independently confirmed, it is considered the deadliest attack in recent years.

Allegations of hospital attack

Afghanistan has alleged that the attack targeted a drug rehabilitation hospital—Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital—where patients were receiving treatment. The government says that most of the victims were civilians and patients.

Pakistan's response

Pakistan has completely rejected these allegations. Pakistani officials say their army targeted only terrorist hideouts and military infrastructure. They argue that the hospital was targeted as "propaganda."

Rising Tensions and Conflict

Tensions have been escalating between Afghanistan and Pakistan for the past three weeks. Border clashes and airstrikes have been ongoing. Pakistan alleges that Afghanistan harbors terrorist organizations, while Afghanistan denies these allegations.

International Concern

The international community is also concerned about this conflict. The already existing presence of terrorist organizations in the region could further aggravate the situation. The war-like situation has weakened hopes for peace.
