Khamenei warns Iran, issues latest statement
Tehran: Iran’s supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei has warned President Donald Trump and the US administration about “unforgettable lessons” at the hands of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its regional allies, accusing the US of violating the Peace Deal signed between both countries again and again.
The state broadcaster of Iran on Saturday, 18th July 2026, read a statement by Mojtaba Khamenei in which the Supreme Leader of Iran said Washington’s breaches of last month’s MoU show that President Donald Trump’s signature was “utterly worthless and invalid”.
Mojtaba Khamenei wrote, “The repeated breach of agreements by the Great Satan vis-a-vis the accord has once again proven to all that the signature of the President of America is now utterly worthless and invalid, and that bullying, hegemonism and savagery are inseparable components of the American creed and doctrine.”
The statement further reads that, “Now that the American enemy is seeking to foment war and suffer heavier costs and further humiliation, it should know that the dear nation of Iran and the Resistance Front hold unforgettable lessons for it.”
The Trump administration has increased its strikes on Iran, and this week it has targeted civilian infrastructure consisting of bridges, railway tracks, and water desalination plants.
Tehran has also attacked civilian infrastructure in Kuwait in response to strikes from the US.
US-Israeli war on Iran started in February, and it has been seen as existential by the country’s senior leadership.
Iran has shown no sign of caving to the increasing demands from the Trump administration, as regional states continue to push for an end to the conflict behind the scenes.
Khamenei said that Washington has “revealed its true face”, exposing its “deceitfulness, irrationality, unreliability, and wickedness.”
He also urged Iranians to trust the leadership to protect the country and asked them to remain “vigilant” and “active” as the fighting grinds on.
The recent reports also revealed that the Houthis in Yemen could close the Bab al-Mandeb gateway to the Red Sea to extend their support to Iran. If this report turns out to be true, this would further destabilise global energy markets, which will increase inflation and apply additional pressure on Washington.
The ongoing war has effected economically on civilians living in America.
