A banned Baloch rebel group has released a video showing a woman suicide attacker killed in a deadly assault in Pakistan’s Balochistan. The footage, claimed to be her final message, offers a rare look into the insurgency’s tactics and messaging.

The footage was recorded hours before the attack
Islamabad: The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a banned separatist outfit, has released a video showing a woman suicide attacker who was killed during a coordinated assault in Pakistan’s Balochistan province over the weekend. The operation is being described as one of the deadliest militant actions in the region in recent years.
The video, circulated on social media platforms, features the attacker identified as Hawa Baloch, who the group claims was part of the second phase of its operation at the Gwadar Front.

According to the BLA, the footage was recorded hours before the attack and documents the militant’s participation in armed clashes with Pakistani security forces. Shot on a mobile phone in low light, the video shows her carrying a rifle and addressing the camera alongside other fighters.

The group said the recording was shared as her “final message” before she was killed during the operation. The video also includes brief exchanges between the attackers during the engagement.
In the clip, the woman is seen delivering statements urging support for the Baloch separatist movement and criticising Pakistani security forces. Analysts note that such videos are typically released as propaganda material aimed at recruitment and morale-building within militant ranks.
The footage ends with visuals indicating that the attackers were neutralised during counter-operations by Pakistani forces. Authorities have not independently verified the video’s authenticity.
According to regional media reports, Hawa Baloch belonged to Pakistan’s Gen Z demographic and had received formal education before joining the insurgency. Reports also claim her father, allegedly associated with the BLA, was killed in a security operation in 2021.

Her involvement highlights a growing trend of younger and educated individuals joining militant groups in Balochistan, a development that security agencies have flagged with concern.
The Pakistan military said over 130 militants were killed across two days of counter-operations following the attacks. The BLA, meanwhile, acknowledged casualties within its ranks, including several suicide attackers and fighters from different units.
Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest but least populated province, has long witnessed an armed separatist movement driven by grievances over political marginalisation and control of natural resources. The BLA is designated a terrorist organisation by Pakistan and multiple countries. Security operations in the region continue as authorities remain on high alert amid fears of further attacks.
