Moscow: Russia has once again launched a major attack on Ukraine. Russia fired 550 missiles and Shahid drones on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. The sound of explosions kept resonating in Kyiv throughout the night.

The Russian Air Force said that they fired 550 drones and missiles in Ukraine overnight. Most of these were Shahid drones. 11 missiles were used in the attack. Russia successfully attacked on eight locations with nine missiles and 63 drones. Ukrainian air defense shot down 270 drones, including two cruise missiles. Ukraine's emergency services reported damage in at least five of the 10 districts of the capital Kyiv. A 14-story residential building caught fire in the Sviatoshinsky district. Several nearby vehicles also caught fire. Apart from this, there are reports of fire in non-residential facilities.
On the other hand, an eight-storey building was attacked in the Shevchenkivsky district, damaging the first floor. Falling debris was reported in the Darnytsky and Holosiysky districts. National railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia of Ukraine said that drone attacks had damaged rail infrastructure in Kyiv.
Meanwhile, a top Russian general has been killed in the Kursk region near the Ukrainian border. Russian Navy Deputy Chief Major General Mikhail Gudkov died in the western Kursk region bordering Ukraine's Sumy region. Russia's Defense Ministry said that General Mikhail died during a 'military operation'. However, it has not shared any details about the operation.
