US Launches Fresh Strikes, Iran Claims Attack on Base in Bahrain
New Delhi: The military strikes between the United States and Iran has entered another phase, with both sides carrying out fresh attacks and expanding operations across the Gulf region. The latest developments include renewed US airstrikes, Iran's claim of targeting a US defence system in Bahrain, attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, and fresh warnings from US President Donald Trump.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched missiles and drones at a US Patriot air defence system located in Riffa, Bahrain. While Tehran described the operation as a response to ongoing American military action, there has been no immediate independent confirmation of the claimed damage.

The United States carried out another round of strikes on Iranian military infrastructure, marking its tenth consecutive night of operations. According to the US military, the attacks targeted command centres, missile launch sites, drone facilities, maritime assets and air defence systems. Washington said the objective was to reduce Iran's military capabilities and restore the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
A commercial tanker was reportedly hit while transiting the Strait of Hormuz near the coast of Oman. Maritime security agencies also reported multiple attacks on vessels over the past two days, increasing concerns over the security of one of the world's most important oil trade corridors.

US President Donald Trump warned that Iran would "pay" for attacks that killed American troops. Meanwhile, the Pentagon identified two US Army personnel killed during recent Iranian missile and drone attacks in Jordan, underscoring the growing human cost of the conflict.
