CRPF vehicle falls into gorge
Srinagar: At least two CRPF personnel were killed and 15 others were injured after their vehicle fell into a gorge near Kandva in the Basantgarh area of Udhampur today on Thursday.
Additional SP Udhampur, Sandeep Bhat, said that police teams have been rushed to the accident site and rescue operations is underway. He said that the injured were immediately admitted to nearby hospital for treatment.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh expressed grief over the incident. He also said that the local people have come forward to help. Jitendra Singh wrote on X, "Disturbing to receive the news of a road accident involving a CRPF vehicle in the Kandva–Basantgarh area. The vehicle was carrying several brave jawans of the CRPF.
"I have just now spoken to DC Ms. Saloni Rai, who is personally monitoring the situation and keeping me updated. Rescue measures have been initiated immediately. Locals have voluntarily come forward to assist. All possible help being ensured."

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also expressed grief over the incident. He worte on X. "Saddened by loss of CRPF personnel due to an accident near Udhampur.
