Jammu: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra in Katra remained suspended for the fourth consecutive day on Friday due to multiple landslides after massive rains in the area, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
While several devotees are returning from there without having Darshan of the Shrine, a large number of pilgrims are still stranded.
Many of the devotees who have returned expressed their sorrow and offered prayers for the injured and deceased. One of the devotees while talking to the media persons said that we will feel always incomplete as could not have darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi.
On Wednesday, Jammu and Kashmir's Katra Hotel Association announced that they will provide free accommodation to pilgrims and needy people stranded due to the severe landslide on the Vaishno Devi Yatra route. Rakesh Wazir, President of Katra Hotel Association, said that the association has decided that all the needy will be given free accommodation for 2 to 4 days or as long as they need.
He said that those who are stranded at the moment just have to call the control room if they do not get a place in any hotel, from where they will be allotted a hotel so that no one is left without darshan. It is very important to accompany and support them in this difficult time, and the association stands with them completely.

According to SSP Risa Paramvir Singh, the landslide occurred near an eatery named Indraprastha near Ardhkuwari Cave Temple, which is located on the main road to Vaishno Devi Temple.
After this incident, the railways have stopped the operation of all trains in the Jammu division to prevent any further mishap and gain control over the current situation.
In short, this massive landslide triggered by heavy rains has not only taken many lives but also put hundreds of passengers in a serious crisis where they are waiting for the weather to improve and rescue operations to be completed to return home safely.
