Katra: A massive landslide has occurred near Ardhkuwari on the way to Mata Vaishno Devi Dham in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. So far 32 people have died tragically, and more than 23 people have been injured in this natural disaster.
The incident occurred due to continuous heavy rains, which not only led to this accident but also caused significant hindrance in rescue and relief operations.
Temporary halt on travel and trouble for passengers
After this incident, the journey to Mata Vaishno Devi has been temporarily halted due to security reasons. Apart from this, the incident has stranded hundreds of devotees, who want to return to their respective homes after darshan.

These devotees, who have come from various states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra, are now waiting for transport to go back, but their difficulties have increased due to bad weather.
Impact on railway services
In view of heavy rains and bad weather, the railways have taken precautionary measures. Under this, 22 trains going to Jammu and Katra have been cancelled, and the routes of 27 other trains have been shortened.

Some trains, such as the Begumpura Express, the Archana Express, and the Lohit Express, which had left for Jammu, were stopped midway and cancelled. These decisions of the railways have further increased the troubles of the stranded passengers.
Location of the accident and statement of officials
According to SSP Risa Paramvir Singh, the landslide occurred near an eatery named Indraprastha near Ardhkuwari Cave Temple, which is located on the main road to Vaishno Devi Temple.
After this incident, the railways have stopped the operation of all trains in the Jammu division to prevent any further mishap and gain control over the current situation.
In short, this massive landslide triggered by heavy rains has not only taken many lives but also put hundreds of passengers in a serious crisis where they are waiting for the weather to improve and rescue operations to be completed to return home safely.
