Ingredients Required

  • 1 cup fresh Moringa leaves
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1–2 green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for deep frying

How to Make Crispy Moringa Pakodas

Start by thoroughly washing the fresh Moringa leaves and draining all excess water.

In a large bowl, combine gram flour, Moringa leaves, chopped onions, green chilies, coriander, ajwain, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Gradually add water and mix well to prepare a thick batter. Make sure the batter is not too thin, as a thicker consistency helps the pakodas turn extra crispy.

Heat oil in a deep pan or wok over medium flame. Once the oil becomes hot, carefully drop small portions of the batter into the oil and fry until the pakodas turn golden brown and crunchy.

Remove the pakodas and place them on tissue paper to absorb excess oil. Serve them hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup for the perfect evening snack experience.
