Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, warning of potential weather-related disruptions.
According to the forecast, the city will experience a generally cloudy sky with moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated places throughout the day.
Citizens have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions due to the risk of localised flooding and traffic disruptions.
Meanwhile the city witnessed intense rainfall this morning following heavy overnight showers that continued to drench the city and its suburbs.
Areas like Kurla, Lalbaug, Byculla, CSMT and Nariman Point reported consistent downpours with gusty winds, leading to water accumulation and traffic slowdowns in several parts of the city.
According to M-Indicator, local trains on Central and Harbour lines are running late by 10-15 minutes. There is no impact on trains on Western line yet. But waterlogging and traffic have increased people's problems.

Today the minimum temperature in Mumbai can be 25.8 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature can be 27.8 degrees Celsius.
The mercury of Mumbai will remain around 29.4 degrees Celsius throughout the day and the wind speed will be 32.4 kilometers.
According to the 6-day weather forecast in Mumbai, today Thursday in Mumbai will be 27.8 degrees Celsius, tomorrow Friday 31.2 degrees Celsius, day after tomorrow Saturday 31.5 degrees Celsius, Sunday 30.8 degrees Celsius, Monday temperature 30 degrees Celsius and Tuesday temperature is expected to be 29.6 degrees Celsius. There will be light humidity in the air and the wind speed can be slow.

For Delhi, the recent spells of pre-monsoon rain have already brought a significant drop in temperature. The IMD says that the pleasant weather will continue till 24 June, with light showers expected today as well. Winds may blow at a speed of 50 to 60 km/h, and thunder and lightning are also possible. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 34°C, while the minimum may drop to 23°C.
Rain is also expected in nearby regions such as Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, and Faridabad. This could bring great relief to residents suffering from the heat.
