Here in Mumbai the 10-day Gunotsav transforms the whole of the city Maya Nagri into Vinayak Nagri with chants of Ganpati Bappa Morya echoing in the air. Long queues of devotees can be seen at every of about seven lakh Ganesh Pandals throughout Maharashtra.
The main festivities are being hosted in Maharashtra with Mumbai as the epic centre. Out of 20 lakh Ganesh Pandals, there are about 7 lakh pandals in Maharashtra only.
