An Air India aircraft carrying passengers crashed. The accident occurred in Ahmedabad at the time of takeoff. The back part of the flight is coming out of hitting a tree. The aircraft was going from Ahmedabad to London.
The aircraft had 242 passengers, including the crew member. Information about how much loss of life and property there has been in this incident has not been revealed. However, it is being said that some injured have been admitted to the hospital.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the aircraft released a Mayday call immediately after flying, but after that, the Air Traffic Control (ATC) lost contact, and the aircraft crashed outside the airport circumference.
The cause of the accident is not yet clear, but the Madeya Call has once again revealed the importance of this emergency signal.
Mayday call is the message of death
The Mayday call is an international emergency signal, which aircraft or ships release when their condition becomes extremely serious. The term is derived from the French language “M’Aidez” (Help Me), and it is repeated three times in air traffic—”Mayday, Mayday, Mayday”—so that the severity of the situation becomes clear.
Today, Air India Flight AI-171 in Ahmedabad also made this call immediately after flying, but after that the silence took place, which reflects the horrors of the incident. Many times in history, the Mayday calls have shown miracles, where the pilots’ understanding and the quick response of the control room saved hundreds of lives.
