“All 140 MLAs are with me”; Shivakumar’s big remark fuels Karnataka CM change buzz

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said, “It’s not in my blood to form groups. All 140 MLAs are my MLAs. The Chief Minister has decided to reshuffle the government cabinet. Therefore, they are all interested in becoming ministers. It’s natural that they will go to Delhi and meet with leaders. What more can I say? They have every right.”

New Delhi: All seems to be unsettled within the Karnataka Congress government. The state's Deputy Chief Minister arrived in Delhi yesterday with his supporters, claiming he would meet with top party leaders.

However, DK Shivakumar was seen in Bengaluru today. When he addressed the media, he was questioned about the ongoing speculation regarding the CM position in the state. He stated that the Congress has 140 MLAs in the state, and all are capable of becoming CM and ministers.

"There's nothing wrong with that."
Speaking to the media, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said, "It's not in my blood to form groups. All 140 MLAs are my MLAs. The Chief Minister has decided to reshuffle the government cabinet. Therefore, they are all interested in becoming ministers. It's natural that they will go to Delhi and meet with leaders. What more can I say? They have every right."

DK Shivakumar said, "I didn't take anyone with me. Some of these MLAs met with Kharge. They also met with the CM. This is their life. No one invited them; they are going on their own volition and showing their faces. They wanted to show their presence, that they are at the forefront, can work, and want responsibility."

CM Siddaramaiah will meet Mallikarjun Kharge tomorrow
When questioned about the Deputy CM's statement, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the high command makes cabinet reshuffles. The CM said, "DK Shivakumar, I, and everyone else have to listen to what the high command says." He added, "I will present the next budget myself, and I will continue to do so; I will meet Mallikarjun Kharge tomorrow."
