The name of the new police chief of Rajasthan may be announced soon. This is the last day of Rajasthan's acting DGP, Dr. Ravi Prakash Mehrada, in this post, and today he is going to retire.

The Bhajan Lal government of Rajasthan had sent a panel of 7 IPS officers to UPSC for the new DGP in the state. The names sent to UPSC included the names of IPS Rajiv Sharma, Sanjay Agarwal, Anand Srivastava, Rajesh Nirvana, Rajesh Arya, Govind Gupta, and Anil Paliwal.

UPSC has approved 3 names, which include the names of Rajiv Sharma, Rajesh Nirvana, and Sanjay Agarwal. As per the rules, UPSC has taken into account the seniority, service record, and experience of the officers at the center and state level for the new DGP.
