New Delhi: Army doctor Major Rohit Bachwala, who came into the news after successfully delivering a pregnant woman at Jhansi railway station, has been honored by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi. The Army Chief praised Major Bachwala's professional efficiency and selfless service spirit shown beyond duty, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

This incident happened on Saturday, when Major Bachwala reached Jhansi railway station to go to Hyderabad on leave. Then he saw a pregnant woman in pain in the lift area of ​​the station, who had fallen from a wheelchair. Without delay, Major Bachwala proceeded to help the woman.

North Central Railway, Jhansi Division Public Relations Officer Manoj Kumar Singh said that a woman travelling to Barabanki from the Panvel-Gorakhpur Express was disembarked at Jhansi station when she started experiencing labor pain. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the female TTE of the railway and Major Rohit Bachwala, present on the spot, promptly conducted a safe delivery on the platform itself.

Major Bachwala himself told the entire incident

The major said that when he saw the woman in pain, he immediately rushed to help and decided to conduct the delivery with limited resources. He created a temporary delivery area on the platform, ensured cleanliness with the available materials, and saved the lives of both mother and child. After delivery, the woman and the newborn were sent to the hospital by ambulance.

It was also a special thing that after doing this entire difficult and sensitive work, Major Rohit Bachwala was able to catch his train on time. His courage and humanitarian service are being greatly appreciated.
