North India Enjoys Its Most Pleasant Sunday of the Season
New Delhi: The national capital woke up to a clear blue sky and crisp autumn breeze on Sunday, offering residents a pleasant respite from the recent spell of humidity. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi the minimum temperature will be around 20°C, while the maximum is likely to hover near 30°C.
The day is expected to remain dry and sunny, with light northwesterly winds keeping the air fresh and visibility high. Morning hours remained particularly comfortable, encouraging people to step outdoors for walks and weekend outings.
However, IMD officials have warned that the air quality could see a slight dip in the coming days as stubble burning increases in nearby states.

Weather conditions are favourable for dispersion today, but the air may turn slightly hazy by early next week, according to the IMD officials.
The pleasant Sunday also brought relief for commuters and joggers, as no rain is expected for the next few days. Evening temperatures are likely to settle around 24-25°C, making it ideal for outdoor gatherings and festive preparations ahead of Diwali.
Delhi Enjoys Its First True Autumn Day
Across Uttar Pradesh, clear skies and warm conditions dominated the weather chart. Most districts, including Lucknow, Kanpur, and Varanasi, reported sunny conditions with daytime temperatures ranging between 29°C and 31°C. Mornings remained cool, between 18°C and 21°C, providing a comfortable start to the day.
IMD officials noted that the overall weather pattern will remain stable through the week, with no major rain activity predicted. Farmers have welcomed the dry spell, as it supports post-monsoon harvesting activities across the plains.
In Uttarakhand, meanwhile, the day began on a chilly note, particularly in hill regions like Nainital, Mussoorie, and Almora, where the mercury dipped to around 10°C. The afternoon brought mild sunshine with temperatures climbing to 22–23°C, offering ideal conditions for tourists and trekkers.

The IMD has forecast a gradual fall in temperature during the night, with clear skies and light mountain winds enhancing the coolness. Overall, northern India is set to enjoy a stretch of fine weather this week, marked by bright sunshine, clean skies, and moderate temperatures.
