New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its much-awaited national team under party president Nitin Nabin, bringing a mix of experienced leaders and young faces into the organisation.

The 65-member team focuses on social representation, regional balance and youth participation, with 12 women leaders included in key positions. The restructuring is being viewed as a preparation strategy for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.

One of the biggest highlights of the reshuffle is the return of former Union Minister Smriti Irani to the BJP organisation. Irani, who remained away from national politics after losing the Amethi Lok Sabha seat, has been appointed as a National General Secretary.

Former BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav has also made a comeback and has been appointed as a National Vice President.

Meanwhile, BJP’s long-time IT cell head Amit Malviya has been removed from the position. His place has been given to Deepak Mhaske from Chhattisgarh as the new head of the party’s IT cell.

Focus on Youth and Social Representation

The new BJP team reflects a strong focus on younger leaders. The organisation includes:

  • Six members below the age of 40
  • 15 members aged between 40-49 years
  • 21 members aged between 50-59 years

More than 40% of the team members belong to socially disadvantaged communities, highlighting the party’s emphasis on wider representation.

A senior BJP leader said the team has been prepared keeping the requirements of the 2029 Lok Sabha elections in mind.
