During the search, the militants were found hiding inside a cave, triggering a fierce exchange of gunfire. To accurately locate their position, forces deployed drone surveillance, which helped confirm the exact hideout of the terrorists.
Once their location was established, security personnel used a rocket launcher to neutralise the threat. The two militants were killed on the spot, officials said.
Security forces have tightened the cordon in and around Majalta as the operation continues to ensure that no other terrorists are hiding in the region. Further details are awaited as searches and clearance operations remain underway.
