Dehradun: With the aim of strengthening the judicial system in Uttarakhand and facilitating access to justice for the general public, the North Zone Regional Conference on "Enhancing Access to Justice” was held at the Taj Mussoorie Foothills, Dehradun. Organized by the Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority, the two-day conference took place on April 11th and 12th, 2026, with the theme “Access to Justice for All.”

CJI Launches the ‘Nyaya Mitra Portal’

On the second day of the conference, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant inaugurated the ‘Nyaya Mitra Portal’. This portal aims to provide easy access to justice-related services to the general public. He was also honored with a memento during the event. He stated in his address that the main objective of this program is to bring justice to every home, so that everyone can get easy and speedy justice.

High dignitaries were present

Uttarakhand Governor Gurmit Singh, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal were also present on the occasion. All dignitaries were given a grand welcome with the National Anthem and the lighting of a lamp.

Emphasis on strengthening the judicial system

Uttarakhand High Court Chief Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta said that the Forest Act will be enforced more strictly. Furthermore, the law is working more effectively to prevent incidents like acid attacks.

Law Minister recited a poem

Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, in his address, said that he, like the Chief Justice, also comes from a village. He also recited a poem in honor of the CJI, which added an emotional touch to the event.

Important role in increasing access to justice

Supreme Court Judge and Executive Chairman of NALSA Vikram Nath said that this program will further strengthen effective law enforcement and access to justice in the future.

Justice is every person's right

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the government and the judiciary are working together to strengthen the judicial system. He emphasized that justice is every person's right.
