Guwahati: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) began its Northeast expansion campaign with a fresh ground-level outreach programme focused on education, voter-related concerns and volunteer mobilisation.
Party national spokesperson and co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka arrived in Assam on Saturday with an aim to increase its presence in Assam and other northeastern states. The CJP leadership said the movement has received support from the region and is now focusing on direct public interaction to understand local issues.
During his visit, Ranka announced plans to visit schools, meet families affected by concerns related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and interact with volunteers working on the ground in Assam.
The organisation’s move comes at a time when education quality, school infrastructure, examination transparency and electoral processes remain key issues of public discussion.
## CJP Launches Assam Ground Campaign
The CJP delegation has started its Assam outreach by focusing on grassroots engagement instead of only political meetings.
Ranka said the organisation will visit schools across the state as part of its “School Thik Karo” campaign to understand challenges related to education facilities, learning conditions and accountability in the education system.
The campaign aims to highlight issues faced by students, parents and communities while creating a platform for discussions on improving government school systems.
Education reform has emerged as one of the major themes of CJP’s activities, with the organisation claiming that better accountability in institutions is necessary for improving public services.
## SIR Electoral Roll Issue Becomes Key Focus
Apart from education, the CJP team will also hold discussions with families regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Assam.
Ranka said the organisation plans to meet people who have concerns related to the revision process and understand their experiences at the local level.
Electoral roll revision has become an important public issue in several regions, with discussions around documentation, voter verification and inclusion of eligible citizens gaining attention.
The CJP said its Assam visit will help it collect feedback directly from communities and understand ground realities.
## Assam Support Behind Northeast Expansion Plan
The organisation has claimed that Assam has played an important role in supporting the CJP movement since its early activities.
Ranka highlighted the participation of supporters from Assam during the group’s protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, which focused on issues related to the education sector and alleged examination irregularities.
According to CJP leaders, the response from Assam and other northeastern states has encouraged the organisation to expand its structure in the region.
The group is preparing to announce its Assam state unit along with organisational units in other northeastern states.
## Guwahati Public Meeting To Strengthen Outreach
As part of the expansion strategy, CJP is scheduled to organise a public meeting in Guwahati where members, volunteers and local participants will discuss civic issues and organisational plans.
The meeting is expected to provide a platform for interaction between CJP representatives and people interested in the movement.
