New Delhi: The Cockroach Janata Party-led protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar entered its 12th day on Wednesday, with activist Sonam Wangchuk continuing his hunger strike for the fourth straight day.
Sharing his health update, Wangchuk said he was stable but feeling tired after going without food for three days. He said doctors found his blood pressure low and advised him to take more water and salt.
Wangchuk said his sugar level had dropped to 66 due to fasting. He added that such changes are expected during a long fast, as the body starts using stored fat for energy.
Wangchuk said he had lost nearly two kilograms since starting the hunger strike, but called it normal during prolonged fasting.

He added that his own discomfort was small compared to the pain of students and young people whose deaths had sparked demands for accountability.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said student protester Inesh, who was admitted to hospital after his health worsened on Tuesday night, is now recovering. Inesh had reportedly been fasting for eight days.
Dipke said the protest team was in touch with him and monitoring his condition.
The All India Students’ Association claimed that the health of several students on indefinite hunger strike had worsened.

According to AISA, JNUSU Joint Secretary Danish recorded a blood sugar level of 61 mg/dL. It also said Aameen and Deepak were advised by doctors to stop fasting because of serious health indicators.
The CJP began its agitation on June 20 over alleged irregularities in the examination system, including paper leaks and concerns linked to NEET.
Dipke again targeted the government, saying repeated paper leaks, student suicides and lack of accountability had forced students and activists to take to the streets.
The protest has now expanded beyond education-related issues and also includes demands for accountability over matters such as the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
