New Delhi: Tensions are not concluding in the National Capital. Delhi Metro services have been restricted at 16 stations across the national capital as security has been intensified amid the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that the stations will remain closed until further instructions, while the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been deployed at key locations across the city.
The move comes as the CJP protest over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations enters its second month, with protesters continuing their sit-in at Jantar Mantar.
According to the DMRC, the following 16 Delhi Metro stations have been shut for passenger entry and exit:

Supreme Court

Mandi House
Central Secretariat

However, the DMRC clarified that interchange facilities will continue to remain available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat despite the station closures.
Security has been significantly strengthened in the national capital, with CRPF personnel deployed at major metro stations and along roads leading to Parliament. The force has been stationed to assist the Delhi Police in maintaining law and order amid the ongoing protests.
Officials said 20 additional CRPF companies were airlifted from West Bengal following directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The deployment is aimed at securing sensitive locations, including the Parliament complex, during the ongoing Parliament session and demonstrations across Delhi.
CJP protest entered its second month on Wednesday, modelled sit-in at Jantar Mantar, hundreds of the thronged marching on, organisers said.
Organisers claimed that more people had joined the sit-in only during the night, while volunteers were being fed and supplied by supporters.
CJP said on X that thousands of people had gathered at the spot and repeated its demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over exam malpractices.
"Our protest will continue until the Minister exits before the House. The Youth will not stay silent," said CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka.

In other news, the Delhi High Court-mandated move of activist Sonam Wangchuk had been transferred to a private hospital, where he received a visit from Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Dr Jitendra Singh at Medanta Hospital in the national capital's twin city Gurugram.
They told the upset activist that the government had decided to start a parliamentary debate on education reform and requested him to appeal to the students to continue to have trust in the process.
On Tuesday, the Congress renewed its campaign over the alleged paper leak controversy and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi joined Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and several Opposition MPs for a march to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Priyadarshini Bhawan residence.
The trio was prevented from entering the area of protest by Delhi Police and was released the same night.
With security at a high alert in the capital, law and order staff are keeping a close eye on the Parliament, metro corridors, protest sites and activity around the center while the CJP agitation is showing no sign of abating.
