New Delhi: Severe cold has gripped several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. Snowfall is occurring in the hilly states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning stating that a cold wave is likely to continue in central-eastern and northern peninsular India from December 10 to 12.
Furthermore, the cold is expected to intensify in the northwestern regions bordering western India from December 10, with the effect lasting until December 12.
According to the IMD, dense fog is likely in isolated areas of Assam and Manipur between December 9 and 13, and in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Odisha on December 9-10 during the morning hours.
For some relief, light rain/snowfall is also predicted in some parts of the Western Himalayan region from December 13.
