Delhi Airport: Over 100 flights delayed due to a technical glitch with traffic control system

Airport Officials said that the disruption was erupted from a malfunction in the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS). This system feeds crucial flight plan data to the Auto Track System.

New Delhi: Over 100 flight were delayed at Indira Gandhi International Airport here in Delhi (IGIA) on Friday morning due to a technical glitch in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system.

Airport Officials said that the disruption was erupted from a malfunction in the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS). This system feeds crucial flight plan data to the Auto Track System (ATS).

The Airport Authority in an official statement said, “Flight operations at Delhi Airport are experiencing delays due to a technical issue in the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS), which supports Air Traffic Control data. Controllers are processing flight plans manually, leading to some delays. Technical teams are working to restore the system at the earliest. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all passengers and stakeholders.”
