New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has achieved another major breakthrough in the investigation of the car bomb blast that occurred on November 10 in Delhi's Red Fort area. The agency has arrested Aamir Rashid Ali, the owner of the car used in the terrorist attack. Preliminary interrogation and technical investigation revealed that Aamir had conspired with suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi to carry out the plot.

Who Is Arrested Accused?

The NIA stated that Aamir Rashid Ali is a resident of Sambura, Pampore, Jammu and Kashmir. The i20 car that exploded was registered in Aamir's name. According to investigating officers, he had come to Delhi solely to help purchase and prepare the car, which was later equipped with an IED and prepared for the blast.

Delhi Police had taken Aamir into custody on November 10. After his role became clear, the NIA formally arrested him on Sunday.

Umar Un Nabi: Doctor-Turned-Suicide Bomber

The forensic investigation revealed a shocking identity for the investigating agencies. A burned leg found in the car and a black sports shoe lying nearby confirmed that the person driving the car was Umar Un Nabi, a resident of Pulwama.

Umar was an assistant professor in the Department of General Medicine at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana. This means this person, working in the medical field, was secretly part of a white-collar terrorist module.

Key Evidence Also Recovered From Al-Falah University

During the investigation, the NIA also recovered crucial evidence from the Al-Falah University campus. This was the location where Umar had parked his car for some time. Explosive material and other digital evidence were recovered from the campus.

The case has now spread to Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and other states. Agencies are trying to determine how many people were involved in this module and what organizational network was behind it.
