New Delhi: The weather in many parts of the country appears to be changing once again. Light rain in Delhi-NCR early Sunday morning brought temperatures down, providing some relief from the heat. According to the Meteorological Department, many states in North India may experience rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds over the next few days. This is primarily due to a western disturbance affecting the weather in northwest India.

Rain and hailstorms likely in hilly states

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh may experience rain and inclement weather on March 15. Thunderstorms are expected in many areas of Himachal Pradesh between March 15 and 18. Light rain and hailstorms are also possible in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and eastern Uttar Pradesh on March 15 and 16.

The Meteorological Department issued an 'Orange Alert' on Sunday for the Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla districts of Himachal Pradesh. A warning has been issued for thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. A 'yellow alert' has also been issued for Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla districts for Monday and Wednesday.

Temperature Fluctuations

The weather in Himachal Pradesh remained dry during the last 24 hours. Tabo was the coldest place in the state, recording a minimum temperature of 0.2 degrees Celsius. Una recorded a maximum temperature of 33.6 degrees Celsius, the highest in the state. The Meteorological Department says that a new western disturbance may become active in northwest India from the night of March 17th, which could lead to another change in the weather.

Strong Wind Alert in Rajasthan

Weather changes are also expected in Rajasthan. According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds at speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour may occur in many areas of the state. Light rain or drizzle accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Churu districts. Dust storms are also possible in some areas of Ajmer, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions.

Rainfall in Jharkhand for four days

The weather may also affect eastern India. Light to moderate rain is expected in most districts of Jharkhand for the next four days. According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in almost all districts except Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, and Latehar on Sunday. However, maximum temperatures are also expected to rise slightly over the next two days.
