People travelling outdoors are advised to exercise caution during stormy conditions and follow official weather updates. Strong winds and reduced visibility during rainfall may also affect road travel.
Delhi's maximum temperature is forecast to reach around 27 degrees Celsius on Thursday, while the minimum is expected to remain near 17 degrees Celsius. Cloud cover and rainfall are likely to keep conditions relatively cool compared with warmer, sunnier days.
The weather alert comes amid worsening air quality in the capital. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 229 on Wednesday, placing it in the poor category. The reading had risen from 197 on Tuesday, ending four consecutive days of moderate air quality.
Residents are advised to monitor IMD advisories for further updates on rainfall, thunderstorms and possible hailstorms across Delhi-NCR.
