New Delhi: Dhanteras is a time of fresh memories of Dussehra rains in North India. In some areas, Ravana Dahan ceremonies were disrupted and effigies melted. However, this year's Dhanteras is expected to remain relatively calm.

Based on the latest IMD reports, below are the weather updates for 10 states where the impact of weather on puja shopping is expected to be limited:

Delhi and NCR: Sunny weather expected, light fog in the morning

The weather in the capital will be relatively pleasant on Dhanteras. The maximum daytime temperature is expected to be between 32 and 34°C, while the minimum nighttime temperature may be between 18 and 20°C.

There may be light mist or fog in the morning, but no rain is expected. Winds will be light to moderate throughout the day. Thus, the weather will favor puja and silver and gold purchases, resulting in a significant boost.

Uttar Pradesh: Dry for the next five days

The weather in Uttar Pradesh will remain normal and dry for the next four to five days, including Dhanteras. Nights may become cooler in western and central Uttar Pradesh—minimum temperatures are expected to drop by 2–3 degrees. Partly cloudy skies are possible during the day, but there is no rain alert.

Bihar: Sunny and light clouds, rain averted

Bihar will experience mostly sunny days, but light clouds are expected until Diwali. There is no rain alert, and a slight chill may occur at night. Shoppers in densely populated areas will not be affected by the weather.

Himachal Pradesh: Light snowfall at high altitudes—Warning

The weather will be more sensitive in the hilly states. Cloudy skies and light rain or snowfall are likely in higher elevations, especially between October 24 and 30. While Dhanteras will not be particularly affected on the day, the nights will be more chilly.

South India: Monsoon Effects Continue

Weather conditions across South India will remain somewhat unstable. Light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are possible due to ongoing monsoon activity in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and South Karnataka.
