New Delhi/Mumbai: The Disha Salian death case has witnessed a fresh development after her father, Satish Salian, issued a Rs 500 crore legal notice against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and NCP (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh. The notice seeks damages and alleges that statements made by the two leaders attempted to portray Satish Salian’s legal efforts for further investigation as politically motivated.

Legal Notice Claims Defamation Over Remarks on Investigation

According to the legal notice, Satish Salian has accused Aaditya Thackeray and Anil Deshmukh of making statements that allegedly harmed his reputation and questioned his intention behind seeking legal action. The notice reportedly demands an unconditional public apology, including publication and broadcast across major media platforms. It also seeks a video apology from both leaders to be shared through their official social media accounts.

Disha Salian Death Case: Background of the Matter

Disha Salian, who worked as the former manager of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a high-rise building in Mumbai’s Malad area. The Mumbai Police had initially registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the case. Six days later, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in Mumbai. Later, Satish Salian approached the Bombay High Court seeking registration of an FIR and a fresh investigation into the matter.

Allegations and Counterclaims in the Case

The legal notice alleges that Aaditya Thackeray questioned Satish Salian’s motives and claimed that the matter was being used for political purposes. It also refers to statements allegedly made by Anil Deshmukh regarding the case and their impact on Satish Salian’s public image. The allegations mentioned in the notice have not been established in court, and those named in connection with the matter have denied wrongdoing.

Aaditya Thackeray Denies Any Connection With Disha Salian

Aaditya Thackeray has denied any association with Disha Salian, stating that he never met her or had any personal connection with her. In a post on X, Thackeray said that linking his name to the case was an attempt at character assassination and called for the investigation to proceed without political distractions. He has previously alleged that political opponents were targeting him over the matter. Other individuals named in the investigation have also denied involvement.

CBI FIR Adds Fresh Focus to Case

The controversy intensified after the CBI registered an FIR in the case under sections related to murder and criminal conspiracy, among other provisions. Officials said the FIR mentions several names, including Aaditya Thackeray, actors Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi and Rhea Chakraborty, along with doctors and staff connected with the post-mortem process, as persons whose roles require investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing, and allegations mentioned by different parties are subject to legal examination.
