Diwali 2025: Ayodhya shines bright with 29 lakh diyas in Guinness World Record at Deepotsav

Ayodhya: On the occasion of Deepotsav 2025, the entire Ramnagari was illuminated with lamps to mark the arrival of Lord Shri Ram. A new Guinness World Record was set by lighting 2.9 million diyas on the 56 ghats of Ram Ki Paidi. After drone counting, the Guinness Book of World Records team officially announced this record.

This is the ninth consecutive time that Ayodhya has set a world record during Deepotsav. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Minister in Charge Surya Pratap Shahi, and other dignitaries witnessed this historic moment.

Ram’s Coronation Took Place At Ramkatha Park

Prior to the commencement of Deepotsav, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed the coronation of Lord Shri Ram at a ceremony held at Ramkatha Park. He also performed the aarti and tilak for Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughan, and Guru Vashishtha. During the ceremony, the entire park resounded with chants of “Jai Shri Ram.”

Second World Record Set For Saryu Aarti

Another world record was set during Deepotsav when 2,100 Vedacharyas simultaneously performed the Saryu River Aarti. This is the second consecutive record achieved by the Yogi government. Devotees from across the country flocked to Ayodhya to witness this spectacle.

A Grand Fireworks Display

Following Deepotsav, a colorful fireworks display and drone show captivated the devotees. Thousands gathered on the ghats and streets to witness this spectacle.

10,000 Personnel Handled Security Arrangements

More than 10,000 security forces were deployed to ensure the massive event was successful and safe. Ayodhya was divided into 18 zones and 42 sectors. PAC, RAF, ATS, BDS, and local police maintained a vigil at every corner.

Armed soldiers were stationed on the rooftops of houses along Ram Ki Paidi and the Rampath. Anti-mine teams, baggage scanners, and firefighting teams also played an active role. Officials toured the entire venue and reviewed the arrangements.

Ayodhya Creates History Again

This unique celebration of Shri Ram’s arrival and the festival of lights once again proved that Ayodhya is not just a city, but a capital of faith and culture. The entire world witnessed and appreciated this historic night in Ramnagari.
