The event was graced by Shambhavi Choudhary, one of the youngest Members of Parliament in India. Addressing the gathering, she shared insights from her own journey, noting that her interest in politics began through participation in similar youth forums.
She encouraged students to actively engage in informed and disciplined discussions on national issues, highlighting the importance of such platforms in shaping future leaders.
A key highlight of the competition was a debate on the proposed Right to Disconnect Bill, 2025. Students discussed the implications of work-life balance in an increasingly digital world.
The bill sparked diverse viewpoints, with participants weighing the benefits of limiting work-related communication outside office hours against the demands of modern connectivity. The proposal was eventually passed by majority during the simulated session.
In her address, Choudhary emphasised that while digital connectivity is important, staying connected to one’s cultural roots and national values holds greater significance. Her remarks resonated with the theme of the debate.
