New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has once again made a controversial claim that he played a key role in preventing a potential nuclear war between India and Pakistan.
In his statement while wearing a "Right About Everything" hat in the Oval Office of the White House, Trump reiterated that it was his personal intervention in the tense situation that led to a ceasefire between the two countries.

He said that the situation at that time was so serious and dangerous that a major nuclear conflict could have broken out, but it did not happen because of him.
However, India has consistently denied Trump's claim. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have clarified that the decision to cease fire after Operation Sindhu was the result of direct talks between the Indian and Pakistani armies at the DGMO (Director General of Military Operations) level and not any external mediation.
India believes that Pakistan suffered heavy losses after the action of the Indian Air Force, after which it was forced to ceasefire.

Apart from this, Trump also commented on the Russia-Ukraine war. He said that he is going to make a "very big and important decision" in the coming two weeks, which may include imposing more stringent sanctions on Russia or increasing tariffs.
Also, he expressed his desire to hold direct talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump even claimed that he has so far "ended seven wars and prevented three from starting," although he did not name these wars.
However, these statements of Trump seem to be an attempt to strengthen his image in international politics to claim the Nobel Peace Prize, but countries like India have always rejected such claims, emphasizing their sovereignty and independent decisions.
