DUSU Election 2026: Amit Shah Hails ABVP Victory, Says It Reflects Youth’s ‘Unwavering Faith’

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday congratulated the ABVP after BJP affiliated student organisation won three of the four posts in the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections 2026.

Shah said the result reflected what he described as the youth's "unwavering faith" in the ABVP and its "Nation First" ideology, while highlighting the organisation's focus on student welfare and nation-building.

Amit Shah Congratulates ABVP Workers

In a post on X, Shah congratulated ABVP workers on the election outcome.

"Heartfelt congratulations to all the dedicated workers of the ABVP on the splendid victory of @ABVPVoice in the Delhi University Students' Union elections."

He said the result demonstrated the support among young people for the organisation's stated ideology and its work for students.

"This victory reflects the unwavering faith of the youth in the ABVP's ideology of 'Nation First' and its commitment to student welfare," he asserted.

Shah also expressed confidence that the newly elected council would build on the momentum generated by the election result.

"I am fully confident that the council's workers, drawing new energy from this victory and following the ideals of Swami Vivekananda Ji, will continue to relentlessly advance the cause of student interests and nation-building."

Rajnath Singh Calls Result Youth's ‘Faith’

Several Union Ministers and BJP leaders also congratulated the ABVP following its performance in the DUSU elections. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described the outcome as a reflection of young people's support for the "Nation First" approach.

"Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all workers on the splendid success of ABVP in the Delhi University Students' Union elections," he said in a post on X.

Singh added: "I am confident that ABVP will continue to work with the same dedication and commitment to student interests, national service, and nation-building."

BJP Leaders Welcome ABVP's DUSU Performance

BJP President Nitin Nabin also linked the result to youth support for what he called positive and constructive student politics.

"My best wishes to the victorious candidates and everyone who worked tirelessly to make this victory possible," he said in a post on X.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said the result showed that young people, including Gen Z, would reject what he described as Opposition misinformation.

"reflects that the youth and Gen Z across the country will never accept the lies of the Opposition".
