Earthquake of magnitude 5.4 jolts Andaman and Nicobar Islands; NCS updates here

Port Blair: An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 hit the Andaman region on Sunday, November 9, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The tremors were recorded at 12:06 pm (IST), with the epicentre located in the Andaman Sea, approximately at latitude 12.49°N and longitude 93.83°E. As per NCS, the quake occurred at a depth of 90 kilometres, which typically reduces surface damage. Tremors were felt across several parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, including Port Blair, Diglipur, and Havelock, where residents reported mild shaking lasting a few seconds.
