New Delhi: An Air India flight travelling from Bhopal to Delhi made an emergency landing at Jaipur airport on Sunday morning after a technical issue was reported in one of its engines, officials said.

Flight Diverted After Left Engine Issue

The flight, identified as AI1886, was operating from Bhopal to Delhi when the aircraft developed a malfunction in its left engine. According to sources, the plane landed safely at Jaipur airport around 9:40 am.

Following the reported engine issue, a full emergency was declared at Jaipur airport as a precautionary measure. Airport authorities and emergency teams were placed on alert to handle the situation.

Air India Confirms Safe Landing

Air India said the aircraft was diverted to Jaipur due to a technical issue as per standard safety procedures. The airline confirmed that the plane landed safely and is currently undergoing detailed checks.

In a statement, Air India said the aircraft is being inspected in accordance with its safety standards. The airline also expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers due to the unexpected situation.

Passengers Provided Assistance

The airline said its ground team at Jaipur airport provided immediate support and assistance to passengers. Efforts were made to ensure their onward journey to Delhi at the earliest.

According to airline sources, passengers were later transported to Delhi by road and had reached their destination.

The aircraft remains at Jaipur airport and is undergoing technical inspection. Air India reiterated that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority.
