New Delhi: Heavy rainfall in Delhi brought much-needed relief from humid weather but also exposed the city's long-standing waterlogging problems. Within a few hours of intense showers, several roads and low-lying areas across the national capital were flooded, disrupting traffic movement and daily life.
Following the downpour, many major roads turned into waterlogged stretches, creating difficulties for commuters and pedestrians. Vehicles moved slowly through flooded routes, while people faced challenges reaching their destinations.

The sudden accumulation of rainwater once again highlighted the challenges faced by Delhi's drainage infrastructure during the monsoon season.
Every year before the arrival of monsoon, civic agencies claim that drains are cleaned and flood prevention measures are completed. However, the latest waterlogging incidents have raised questions over the effectiveness of these preparations.
Residents have questioned why several parts of the city continue to face similar problems despite repeated assurances by municipal authorities.
