New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Excise Minister Nitin Agarwal stated that a ‘zero-tolerance’ policy towards deaths caused by spurious liquor is his top priority. He said this in a special interview with Dynamite News.

Zero Tolerance on Spurious Liquor

He said that the monitoring system has been strengthened to prevent incidents of spurious liquor. Strict control is being maintained over the supply chain, and swift and stringent action is being ensured against the culprits.

Challenges of the Last Four Years

In the interview, the Minister elaborated on the state's excise policy, action against the liquor mafia, and the government's strict strategy regarding deaths caused by spurious liquor. He presented a clear picture of the challenges faced over the last four years and the tough decisions taken to overcome them.

Action Against the Liquor Mafia

The Excise Minister said that decisive action against the liquor mafia in Uttar Pradesh has been a top government priority. Large-scale raids were conducted to dismantle the illegal liquor network, and action was also taken against the properties of those associated with the mafia. He clearly stated that no one is above the law.

Transparency in Shop Allocation

Regarding questions raised about the allocation of liquor shops, Nitin Agarwal said that the government has made the entire process transparent. Allocations are being done through an online system with clear rules and defined standards, minimizing the scope for corruption.

Accountability of Officers Fixed

He also clarified that the accountability of Excise Department officers has been fixed. Strict action is being taken against officers found negligent or involved in collusion. According to the minister, successful implementation of any policy is not possible without departmental discipline.

Political Confidence Regarding 2027

At the end of the interview, the Excise Minister said that the BJP will form a government with a clear majority for the third time in the 2027 assembly elections in the state, as the people have complete faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies.
