Guwahati: Devotees took a ritualistic holy dip at Saubhagya Kunda at the Kamakhya Temple during the Ambubachi Mela at Nilachal Hill in Guwahati on Wednesday.

A large number of devotees gathered at the temple premises to offer prayers and participate in religious rituals associated with the annual festival. The holy dip at Saubhagya Kunda is considered an important part of the spiritual observances by many pilgrims visiting the shrine during the mela.

The Ambubachi Mela, held at the revered Kamakhya Temple, draws devotees, saints and tourists from different parts of the country. The festival is deeply linked with faith, devotion and traditional rituals associated with Goddess Kamakhya.

Security and crowd management arrangements were put in place around Nilachal Hill as devotees continued to visit the temple in large numbers. The festival remains one of the most significant religious gatherings in Assam.
