New Delhi: A massive explosion occurred in a white Hyundai i20 car near the Red Fort on Monday evening at around 6:52 p.m., creating panic in the entire area. The explosion was so powerful that it set nearby parked vehicles on fire and caused a stampede on the road. Nine people were killed and 24 injured. Police and security agencies are investigating the incident as a terrorist attack. Investigating agencies suspect this person is Dr. Umar Mohammed, who was allegedly part of the Faridabad module and had been absconding for several days. Initial investigations by Delhi Police have revealed that Umar remained seated in the car for approximately three hours but did not get out for even a minute. Network Stretches From Faridabad To Lucknow After this blast, agencies now believe the Faridabad module has the strongest link. A few days ago, the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted an operation from Faridabad in Haryana to Lucknow, seizing approximately 2,900 kg of ammonium nitrate. Now, suspicions are growing that the Red Fort blast was part of a conspiracy by the same network. Car Owner Detained, DNA Test To Confirm Identity The car used in the blast was an i20 with a Haryana registration number. Police have detained the vehicle owner, Salman. Initial investigations have revealed that the car had changed hands several times—first sold by Salman, then to a man named Devendra, and then to Tariq, a resident of Pulwama. A body was recovered from the car after the blast. Police are now conducting a DNA test to confirm whether the body is that of Dr. Umar Mohammad.
