Hyderabad: A man in Telangana’s Mancherial district has bought a Honda Activa scooter worth Rs 1.23 lakh using Rs 10 coins he had painstakingly saved over three years.

B Ravi Joseph, a resident of Luxettipet, said he collected the coins from everyday transactions, including grocery shopping, with the aim of purchasing something useful for his family. Although his family members were initially sceptical about the idea, they eventually supported his plan.

Three Years Of Savings Pay Off

Ravi Joseph said he decided to purchase a new scooter after his old vehicle began developing problems. His habit of setting aside Rs 10 coins over three years eventually helped him accumulate enough money to buy the Honda Activa.

Showroom Agrees To Accept Coins

According to the showroom manager, Ravi Joseph had approached the dealership around 15 days earlier to ask whether it would accept coins as payment for the scooter.

The showroom agreed to his request. Ravi Joseph subsequently arrived with Rs 1.23 lakh in Rs 10 coins and took delivery of the scooter, the manager said.
