Action Against Corruption
Last month on 19 May, the vigilance team in Roorkee, Uttarakhand has taken a big action against corruption. The peon posted in the Roorkee Upper Tehsil Office has been arrested red handed while taking a bribe of ₹ 10,000. The accused has been identified as Rohit. The accused was posted as peon of the Additional Tehsildar.
According to the information, the complainant told that the case related to his sister's agricultural land is pending in the court of Tehsildar, Roorkee. On April 21, a restoration application was submitted for re-hearing in this case. In lieu of its settlement, a bribe of ₹ 10,000 was demanded by peon Rohit (resident of village Kasba, house number 273, Roorkee, Haridwar).
After receiving the complaint, the vigilance team planned and conducted a trap operation and caught the accused red handed. This arrest was made in the tehsil premises itself in which the accused was arrested with coloured notes.
