A powerful blast shook the Nalagarh area of Solan district in Himachal Pradesh on New Year 2026 morning, triggering panic among residents. The explosion occurred near the local police station, shattering glass panes of nearby buildings and an army hospital.
At the same time severe cold was there in many areas including Tabo in Lahaul-Spiti of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday. There the minimum temperature was recorded minus 5.5 degrees Celsius. It was the coldest night in the area of the season.
All the injured have been sent to seperate hospitals Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) and Kumarsain Hospital. The injured include children and women also. Kumarsain BMO Ankush Thakur said that a total of 32 injured were brought to the hospitals.
The report by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) tells ‘At least 497 people have been injured during the season, while 47 remain missing.’
Out of all the places in the state Mandi is among the worst affected district. Here more than 200 roads have been either damaged or completely blocked.
