Himachal Pradesh: 12 killed as bus with 45 passengers falls into gorge in Sirmaur

Shimla: Twelve people have died in a private bus accident in Haripuradhar, Sirmaur district. Several others were injured.

The injured are being rescued from the accident site, and rescue operations are underway. The bus was traveling from Kupvi to Shimla when it fell into a 50-meter-deep gorge near Haripuradhar.

According to reports, there were 45 people on board.

Local residents are helping to bring the injured to the road. The scene is chaotic with cries of distress. The accident was so severe that the bus was completely destroyed.

SP Sirmaur, Nishchint Singh Negi, said that nine people have died in an accident in Sirmaur district near Haripuradhar when a private bus traveling from Kupvi to Shimla went off the road.

The death toll may rise. There were 30-35 people on the bus. More information is awaited. I am going to the spot. Police and other rescue teams are trying to rescue the injured.

Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan expresses condolences

Five critically injured patients are being taken to Sangrah, Dadahu, and Nahan for treatment. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.

Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan has expressed condolences on behalf of the government. He has directed that proper arrangements be made for the treatment of the critically injured patients being brought to Nahan Medical College.

Some people have been referred to Rajgarh and Dadahu. Preparations for treatment have been completed at the medical college.

In this time of grief, he has decided to cancel all his upcoming engagements with immediate effect. He is currently traveling from Palampur to Haripurdhar.

He appealed to the people, saying that in these difficult times, it is everyone's duty to stand united and fulfill their responsibilities as human beings.
