Himachal Pradesh: Cloudburst in Sainj valley in Kullu; Homes swept away

Kullu: An incident of cloudburst has been reported in Sainj valley of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. After this incident, there was a strong flood in the Jiva drain in the area, due to which an alert has been issued in the surrounding areas.

According to the local administration, the Parvati river is also in spate. Although no loss of life or property has been reported so far, but as a precaution, people have been advised to stay in safe places.

The administration and disaster management teams are keeping a watch on the spot. Local residents have been appealed not to go to the banks of rivers and drains and pay attention to the warnings of the Meteorological Department. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain and heavy rain in some high altitude areas for the next 24 hours.

Major Disaster Averted In Lahaul

Heavy rains are falling in the mountainous areas of Himachal Pradesh. Due to this, incidents of flash floods and sudden strong flow in drains are being reported at many places. In Lahaul, while saving an injured person in Jahlama Nala, I myself got swept away, but thank God I came out safely. In another incident, the temporary bridge built to cross the river for Baladhi village was washed away due to the water released by the NHPC dam in the Parvati river of Manikaran valley. Local people used this bridge for commuting.

Havoc In Gujarat

Let us tell you that the havoc of monsoon continues in many states including Himachal. On the other hand, the situation has worsened due to heavy rains in 26 districts of Gujarat. Due to heavy rains, there is a red alert in three districts. The Meteorological Department has alerted that there is no relief in Surat as well as other parts of Gujarat yet. Torrential rain is falling in different parts of the state.

Heavy Rain In Rajasthan

Meanwhile, the havoc of monsoon continues in Rajasthan. A day before, on Tuesday, heavy rains occurred in many parts of the state, due to which heavy rains also occurred in the capital Jaipur. According to the Meteorological Department, 77.8 mm of rain was recorded in Jaipur throughout the day. Apart from this, rain also occurred in other parts of the state. In this, 13 MM rain was recorded in Sikar, 10 MM in Dungarpur, 7 MM in Mount Abu, 4 MM in Pratapgarh, 2.9 MM in Kota.
