Baramulla: Educator, philanthropist and founder of GAASH Academy, Baramulla, Sheikh Mudasir has called for greater international focus on reports of civilian killings, alleged human rights violations and hardships faced by people in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). He stressed the need for an impartial, fact-based examination of such allegations while keeping civilian safety, dignity and accountability at the centre.
Sheikh Mudasir highlighted that human rights principles should apply equally to all individuals and should not be influenced by political interests, diplomatic considerations or geographical boundaries. He stated that civilian suffering and alleged violations of fundamental rights require attention based on humanitarian concerns rather than political positions.
He urged international human rights organisations, civil society institutions and global stakeholders to independently assess reports emerging from PoJK and ensure that the concerns of affected individuals and families are heard. He emphasised that victims of violence should not become part of political narratives or reduced to statistics, as every incident represents personal loss, fear and uncertainty for families and communities.
The educator called for a humanitarian approach towards conflict-related issues, maintaining that the protection of basic rights, including the right to life, security and dignity, remains a fundamental obligation of societies and institutions. He stressed that allegations of human rights violations should be examined through transparent processes, credible investigations and independent scrutiny.

Sheikh Mudasir also focused on the impact of prolonged conflict on younger generations, stating that violence and confrontation create long-term social and psychological consequences. He underlined the importance of education, awareness programmes and constructive dialogue in building a peaceful environment and preventing cycles of hatred and polarisation.
As an educator and philanthropist, Sheikh Mudasir said that the role of social institutions extends beyond academic responsibilities, particularly when issues involving human dignity, peace and justice emerge. He noted that educators, intellectuals and civil society groups have a responsibility to encourage dialogue, tolerance and peaceful resolution of disputes.
He further called for stronger accountability mechanisms wherever credible allegations of rights violations are reported. According to him, transparency, independent review and institutional responsibility are essential to ensure that civilian rights remain protected and that no authority or organisation remains beyond scrutiny.
Sheikh Mudasir appealed to intellectuals, educators, civil society organisations and young people to oppose violence and support democratic engagement, peaceful dialogue and legal mechanisms for addressing differences. He stressed that sustainable peace can only be achieved through respect for human rights, justice and inclusive participation.
His remarks come amid continuing discussions over the Kashmir issue and the broader concerns surrounding civilian protection, humanitarian rights and accountability. He advocated for a human-centred approach focused on safeguarding individual dignity, ensuring justice and protecting fundamental freedoms for all affected communities.
