CJI Surya Kant on Inclusive Justice

New Delhi: CJI Surya Kant shared experiences from his early life and the beginning of his legal career at a summit. He emphasized that the biggest lesson from growing up in a small village was patience.

The journey from village to city, then to the High Court and finally the Supreme Court, was long and challenging. This path taught him that success requires constant hard work, self-investment, and patience.

He highlighted that his experience from district courts to High Court and Supreme Court gives him a deep understanding of judicial administration.

His focus is on reducing case pendency, setting timelines, and making the system more effective through a National Judicial Policy. He described mediation as a powerful tool that can resolve disputes quickly, economically, and satisfactorily.

District Judiciary and Training

CJI Surya Kant stressed that the strength of the judiciary is measured at the district level. He urged judicial officers not to be influenced by fear or criticism. Regular training, optimal utilization of human resources, and merit-based incentives are essential to improve judicial efficiency.
