Gwalior: Former Madhya Pradesh minister Sajjan Singh Verma has given a controversial statement on the Pahalgam terror attack. He said that if his leader Indira Gandhi was alive, she would have divided Pakistan into four parts after dividing it into two parts, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
He also said that nowadays the game of politics is going on and if Prime Minister Modi had a "56-inch chest", he would have done wonders in a day. Apart from this, commenting on the "Samvidhan Bachao Rally" being held in Gwalior, he alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have ripped apart the Constitution.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) responded to Sajjan Singh Verma's statement and said that the opposition is doing negative politics. The BJP said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi is taking strong action against terrorism and a strong response will be given soon.
It also said that big changes take time and everything cannot happen in a day. Comparing the time of Indira Gandhi, the BJP said that terrorist incidents had also taken place during that period, but the Modi government is working on a zero tolerance policy against terrorism.
Sajjan Singh Verma's statement is going to heat up the political debate further. This dispute between Congress and BJP can trigger a fresh debate on the issue of national security and constitution.
The Congress leader's statement that Pakistan was broken into pieces during Indira Gandhi's time reflects his criticism of PM Modi. At the same time, BJP's response emphasizes that the Modi government is fully capable of dealing with terrorism and the opposition should not make baseless allegations.
The reactions of both sides in this entire controversy show serious differences over the country's security and political rivalry.
While Congress leaders believe that the current government is not taking strong action against terrorism, BJP argues that the Modi government has strengthened the security forces and given a befitting reply to the terrorists.
This debate may intensify in the coming days, especially when the general elections in the country are near. Stay tuned to Dynamite News for further updates
