According to the weather department, wind speeds may reach up to 70 kmph in some areas, raising concerns over waterlogging, damage to weak structures and disruption to normal life.

IMD has warned of intense rainfall accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in several parts of these states.

Landslide Risk In Hill States

The weather department has issued a special warning for hilly regions, including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Continuous rainfall may increase the possibility of landslides in vulnerable areas, while rising water levels in rivers and streams could create challenges in low-lying regions.

Authorities have advised tourists and travellers visiting hill areas to remain cautious and monitor weather updates.

Delhi-NCR Weather Forecast

The national capital is expected to witness moderate to heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds.

Delhi may experience wind speeds between 50 and 60 kmph, while temperatures are likely to remain around 31 degrees Celsius during the day and 24 degrees Celsius at night.

The weather conditions may impact traffic movement and outdoor activities in parts of Delhi-NCR.

Heavy Rain Warning For Uttar Pradesh And Other States

Several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Prayagraj, are expected to receive rainfall accompanied by strong winds.

Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha may also experience heavy showers and thunderstorms during the coming days.

Coastal areas of West Bengal and Odisha are likely to remain under close watch due to increased rainfall activity.

IMD Issues Safety Advisory

Authorities have advised people to avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions and stay away from trees, electric poles and open areas during thunderstorms.

Farmers, fishermen and residents in vulnerable locations have also been advised to remain alert as weather conditions may change rapidly.

The IMD and local administrations are closely monitoring the situation and have kept emergency response teams prepared in affected regions.
