Independence Day 2025: Delhi Police bans all ‘aerial devices’ ahead of 15 August

New Delhi: While the Nation is gearing up to celebrate the Independence Day, the security forces are on the alert mode right from now. As the main events will take place in the National Capital, the Delhi police has made elaborate arrangements to beefed up the security, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

All Aerial Devices Banned

SBK Singh, Police Commissioner Delhi has issued an order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita to impose a complete ban on para-gliders, para-motors, hang-gliders, microlight aircraft, hot air balloons, small-sized powered aircraft, quadcopters and parachute jumping from aircraft till 16 August as a part of tight security protocols.

Ban Order

The order said, “As per inputs received from intelligence agencies, some criminal, anti-social and terrorist elements may use these sub-conventional aerial platforms with the intention of harming the security of the country, general public and VIPs.”

Order Is Binding On All

The Delhi Police has clarified that the order will be applicable to all individuals, irrespective of whether they have been informed about it personally or not. It will be pasted publicly on the notice boards of all concerned offices, such as DCP, ACP, Police Station Office, Tehsil Office, NDMC, MCD, PWD, DDA and Delhi Cantt Board. With this, the general public will also be able to get complete information about this security measure.

Three-Level Security Zone

Special security measures have been set up because there will be guests and important people from many countriesincluding the Prime Minister, attending an event at the Red Fort on Independence Day. There is a three-level security zone around the Red Fort. It includes special commandos from the NSG, SPG, and Delhi Police. They are using facial recognition technology to spot anyone who may be a threatThe Delhi Police also wants the public to stay watchful and call the police right away if they see anything unusual.
