Srinagar: Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), under the Budgam district administration, organised a Youth Parliament programme at Shaikh-ul-Aalam Auditorium in Budgam, with more than 100 students participating enthusiastically.
The programme aimed to strengthen democratic awareness among young people by involving them in parliamentary activities, discussions and exchanges of views.
Participants engaged in mock Parliament discussions and deliberated on public policies, demonstrating their understanding of democratic principles and parliamentary proceedings.
The initiative is intended to encourage young people to develop a culture of discussion and become more informed and responsible citizens.
Youth Parliament programmes provide students with an opportunity to develop leadership qualities, critical thinking, public speaking skills and a better understanding of the Constitution.
By taking parliamentary activities beyond the classroom, such programmes familiarise students with democratic processes and encourage them to raise questions, express their views and develop independent opinions.
